It is with sadness and joy that we must let you know that our precious Kimberly has gone to be with the Lord. She passed away on June 7, 2016, following a head injury due to a drop seizure. We have good news though. We have now set up a fund in Kimberly's memory to support non-verbal individuals from the Austin area with disabilities who have low to non-verbal communication skills and/or intractable epilepsy in order to offer financial support for alternative therapies or treatments that insurance may not cover. We have set up this fund under the auspices of Hill Country Special Needs Alliance which has been helping special needs families since the spring of 2016. Hello! Welcome to my world. I have posted some of my poetry, artwork, and thoughts on my website. I hope you enjoy! Feel free to comment your ideas and thoughts.
In 2013, I published a book of my poetry and art called Under the Silence is Me--How it Feels to be Nonverbal. It is a picture of my life and my work. I hope you will take a peek at my Etsy shop: www.kimsgifts.etsy.com. You can purchase a copy of my book and some of my prints there. Proceeds from the sale of books and prints will go to the Kimberly Dixon Memorial Fund to help individuals affected by autism and/or intractable epilepsy.
